The AKM2G-21G-ANDNCA00 servo motor is produced by Kollmorgen and is part of the AKM2G Magnetic Motors series. This brushless unit works with a compatible drive to position loads quickly and accurately in indexing tables, conveyors, and pick-and-place heads. In automated equipment, it provides the controlled torque response needed for repeated starts, stops, and short positioning moves. Its rotor uses a length 1 core, and the smooth shaft helps simplify mechanical coupling where installation space is limited.
The compact 58 mm frame allows mounting in machinery with a limited footprint, and the rear exit has an IP65 sealing level for wash-down spray exposure. Power and signal conductors share a single 1 htec M23 connector, which reduces cabling and keeps the connection area compact. This connector arrangement also helps cable routing stay orderly in machine sections with tight clearances. Continuous operation is permitted in ambient air from 5–40 °C, allowing the motor to run near surrounding process equipment under normal indoor factory conditions. The motor is supplied without a brake, so a vertical axis requires external locking or drive-applied holding current when power is removed.
The winding temperature is monitored by a PT-1000 + PTC sensor pair, allowing the drive to react before insulation is overstressed during demanding cycles. Position and velocity data are provided through the SFD3 Smart Feedback Device Gen. 3, so the motor package can deliver feedback without a separate external encoder. Integrated feedback also supports closed-loop control directly through the paired servo drive. The motor supports up to 95% relative humidity when condensation is avoided, which suits high-moisture packaging areas and similar production spaces. Its mounting face uses an IEC flange with accuracy N pattern for precise alignment with connected gearboxes or machine interfaces.
