Product Description:
The AKM2G-21D-ANDNGU00 is a servo motor produced by Kollmorgen within the AKM2G Magnetic Motors series. It is designed to convert drive commands into precise rotary motion for positioning or speed-regulated tasks in industrial automation, such as pick-and-place axes, labeling stations, and small conveyor sections. By combining permanent-magnet technology with a compact frame, the motor fits densely populated machine layouts while maintaining the quick response required by closed-loop motion systems. Its compact form also makes it suitable for applications where available installation space is limited.
This model operates in ambient air between 5–40 °C, so cabinet ventilation must keep internal temperatures within that range. Its single-cable connector set carries power and feedback signals and is sealed to IP65, preventing dust and water jets from reaching the contacts. The housing terminates in one htec M23 plug, allowing direct pairing with compatible Kollmorgen hybrid cables to reduce wiring complexity. Position data is returned through HIPERFACE DSL® capacitive feedback, which provides high-resolution rotor angle information over the same cable used for power and eliminates separate resolver cabling. The motor has a 58 mm square frame that supports mounting to compatible IEC gearheads without adapters and keeps inertia low for rapid acceleration.
The unit tolerates up to 95% relative humidity during operation, so the connector components are selected to resist moisture-related corrosion. The front face uses an IEC flange with accuracy class N, providing consistent concentricity when the motor is aligned with precision machinery. Torque is transferred through a smooth shaft, which suits clamp or collet couplings that require zero key backlash. Internal winding temperature is monitored by a PT1000 and PTC sensor pair; the analog element supplies continuous thermal data, while the PTC triggers an overtemperature fault for immediate shutdown. The motor is supplied without a holding brake, so an external mechanism or drive-applied torque must retain a stationary load. Rotor length code 1 indicates the shortest magnetic stack, making the configuration appropriate for applications where low mass is more important than maximum continuous torque.
