The AKM43G-EKCNR-01 is a brushless synchronous servo motor produced by Kollmorgen within the AKM Synchronous Servo Motors series. It is designed for high-precision position and velocity control in compact industrial automation systems. The motor converts electrical commands from a drive into tightly regulated rotary motion, making it suitable for indexing tables, form-fill-seal modules, and other axes where repeatability is critical. Its brushless design reduces mechanical wear associated with commutators and supports responsive operation during repeated acceleration and deceleration cycles.
This model is supplied without a brake, so a mechanical holding device or drive-generated torque is required to maintain the load position during a power loss. Power and feedback conductors connect through two SpeedTec-ready connectors, simplifying cable attachment and reducing wiring time in the control cabinet. A shaft seal is installed at the output end to limit the entry of dust or coolant around the rotating interface. The square mounting flange has an 84 mm frame dimension that aligns with IEC sizing for direct connection to compatible gearboxes and machine plates. Torque is transmitted through an open keyway machined into the shaft, providing positive engagement with a keyed coupling or pulley. Rotor position is monitored by a resolver, which produces analog sine-cosine signals that the drive converts into position and velocity data. The resolver is built with two poles, and the drive can interpolate its signals for more precise motion feedback. The sensor uses a single-turn inductive design, allowing it to report the shaft angle over one complete mechanical revolution without relying on batteries. Magnetic stack depth is identified by Rotor Length Index 3, which provides a midrange balance between continuous torque capability and rotor inertia. The motor uses Winding Designation G, allowing a compatible drive to supply current suited to the electrical and thermal characteristics of this frame. Its feedback and winding arrangement support operation with standard Kollmorgen AKD and S700 servo drives. Proper drive parameter selection allows the motor, resolver, and current-control loop to work together during position, speed, and torque regulation.
