The AKM32D-ANCNR-01 is one of Kollmorgen’s high-precision synchronous motors. It comes with a built-in standard feedback unit and a brushless two-pole hollow shaft transmitter resolver. This resolver is ideal because it has a high tolerance to rotational imbalance, has low rotational inertia and is lightweight. For variable resistance during temperature changes, the AKM32D-ANCNR-01 comes with a Positive Temperature Coefficient merged with the SERVOSTARservoamplifier'smonitoringsystem.
For this motor to work effectively, it should be installed away from conducive material. Make sure there is no opening where liquid substances which can interfere with the bearings. Liquids and other aggressive materials can reduce the 20,000 hours bearing life substantially. The bearings should always be replaced after the recommended 20,000 hours of operation under manufacturer-rated conditions.
The manufacturer advises that you need to make sure the resolver poles and motor poles are compatible. Failure to do so may lead to the motor being damaged due to an incorrect servo-amplifier setting. This motor is fitted with a 70mm flange and a smooth shaft. These two components are fragile, so brute force is discouraged during storage and assembly. It’s advisable that you avoid axle loads on the shaft since they shorten the motor’s life. One advantage with the AKM32D-ANCNR-01 is that it comes fitted with a shaft seal. The bearings are safe from oil mist and spray. The AKM32D-ANCNR-01 may require maintenance which should only be undertaken by a qualified professional.
