Product Description:
Kollmorgen manufactures the AKM74Q-ANH2AB00 within the AKM Synchronous Servo Motors series. This AC brushless servo motor provides high dynamic torque and precise speed regulation for automated gantries, indexers, and pick-and-place axes. Its brushless construction supports repeatable acceleration and deceleration in servo-controlled machinery where axis response and stable velocity tracking are important. By combining a compact frame size with matched feedback, the unit forms the electromechanical link between a Kollmorgen drive and the mechanical load, allowing closed-loop motion profiles to be executed with minimal position error in industrial automation lines.
Mechanical holding force is maintained by a 24 V holding brake, which engages automatically when power is removed so vertical or overhung loads do not drift. Power and signal terminations are grouped in a single circular connector that carries one M40 power connector and one SpeedTec-ready feedback connector, which simplifies wiring and keeps the cable exit area compact. Position feedback is supplied by a BiSS B encoder that produces 2048 lines/rev, delivering absolute digital position information to the drive with high noise immunity. The motor uses feedback type AD34/AD58, comes at the standard customization level, and has rotor length index 4 for medium-inertia applications.
The encoder also offers multi-turn optical capability, so absolute position is retained across multiple revolutions without a battery. This lets the drive recover position immediately after startup on axes that move through more than one turn between stops. Mounting follows an IEC flange with accuracy N outline, so it fits machine interfaces that share the same pilot diameter and bolt circle. The square frame dimension of 188 mm sets the external envelope, and the Q winding balances speed constant with thermal performance in general-purpose motion systems. A smooth shaft eases coupling alignment and avoids keyway stress.
