Product Description:
The AKM65P-ANC2DB-00 is a Kollmorgen servo motor supplied in the AKM Synchronous Servo Motors series. In an automation cell, this rotary actuator couples to a matched drive to deliver controlled torque to conveyors, gantries, and articulated joints. Its feedback system provides the rotor position data required for closed-loop motion without mechanical gearing changes.
A factory-installed 24 V holding brake secures the shaft when power is removed, preventing load drift on vertical or high-inertia axes. Power and feedback lines exit through two SpeedTec-ready connectors, allowing tool-free quarter-turn plugs to be attached quickly. Position data is generated by an EnDat 2.1 encoder, which reports the rotor angle in incremental and absolute formats at a native resolution of 512/2048 lines per revolution. Because the optical encoder provides multi-turn operation, the drive receives continuous count information over multiple revolutions without battery buffering. The encoder uses the EQN1125/1325 feedback type for compatibility with supported Kollmorgen drive systems. Its optical sensing method provides precise position information for controlled acceleration, deceleration, and stopping throughout the operating range.
The motor face has an IEC flange with accuracy class N, simplifying alignment with gearboxes that use the same international bolt circle. A square 138 mm frame establishes the stator’s outside width and provides a consistent mounting envelope. The smooth shaft supports precision clamping hubs in applications where a keyway is unnecessary. A rotor length index of 5 indicates the longest rotor available in the 65 frame, providing increased magnetic stack depth for higher continuous torque density. The internal copper uses winding designation P, which balances the speed constant and thermal loading for use with compatible medium-voltage drives. The optical encoder wheel is indexed to the winding, keeping commutation offsets consistent during operation. This arrangement helps the connected drive coordinate current delivery with the rotor position while the motor operates under changing speed and load conditions.
