Product Description:
The AKM65N-ACC2R-00 is a synchronous servo motor produced by Kollmorgen within the AKM Synchronous Servo Motors series. This motor provides closed-loop rotary actuation for positioning, speed, and torque control tasks in industrial automation, including indexing tables, pick-and-place heads, and packaging axes. A compatible servo drive uses the motor’s feedback signal to regulate shaft motion as operating speed and load conditions change.
The integrated 24 V holding brake clamps the shaft when power is removed, preventing load drift on suspended or vertical axes. The motor has two SpeedTec Ready connectors for signal and power connections, allowing quick, keyed attachment without hand tools. Rotor position is monitored by a resolver, an electromagnetic sensor that tolerates high vibration and temperature while providing absolute position data within one revolution. The resolver uses 2 poles for rotor position sensing. Its single-turn inductive feedback reports position over one mechanical revolution, so external homing or a multi-turn encoder is required when position tracking across multiple revolutions is needed. The standard customization profile indicates that no application-specific modifications are applied. Winding designation N provides the electrical characteristics needed for use with the appropriate medium-voltage servo drive.
The feedback housing follows the Size 10/15/21 outline, supporting installation in machinery designed for that resolver package. A square mounting face uses an IEC flange with accuracy class N, so the motor aligns with gearboxes and machinery that use the corresponding metric mounting pattern. The frame has a side length of 138 mm, providing a balance between inertia and continuous torque for midrange loads. Rotor length index 5 extends the magnetic stack to increase peak output without increasing the frame width. The shaft transmits torque through a keyway, providing positive engagement with pulleys or rigid couplings. This keyed interface helps prevent relative rotation between the shaft and the attached mechanical component during acceleration, deceleration, or load reversals.
