Product Description:
The AKM54L-ACCNC-0F is a rotary servomotor manufactured by Kollmorgen and assigned to the AKM Synchronous Servo Motors series. Designed for closed-loop operation with compatible digital drives, the motor delivers accurate torque and speed regulation for automated filling, cutting, and conveying stations. Its mechanical format, electrical winding, feedback package, and protective finish support demanding washdown environments where frequent cleaning and rapid production changeovers are routine. The sealed design also helps protect internal components from moisture and contaminants encountered in food-processing machinery.
The stator frame measures 108 mm, giving the motor a midsize footprint that fits common machine frames without spacers. Power and feedback reach the unit through two SpeedTec-ready connectors, which use bayonet locking for quick and secure connections. Because the motor is supplied without a brake, the application must provide an external means of holding position when power is removed. An encoder supplies position information to the control through the SFD feedback system, which supports reliable signal transmission in electrically noisy industrial environments. Stainless steel hardware and a specialized Washdown Food coating protect exposed surfaces against alkaline detergents and caustic sanitizers commonly used in food processing. These materials also help the exterior withstand repeated cleaning without compromising the integrity of the motor housing.
Position data are transmitted over four signal lines, providing the drive with the information required for closed-loop motion control. The sensing module follows the Size 10/15/21 dimensional code, allowing it to work with the corresponding feedback connection format. Rotary motion leaves the housing through a shaft with a keyway, providing positive torque transfer to pulleys, gearboxes, or rigid couplings. The motor uses an IEC mounting interface with accuracy class N, so its alignment tolerances suit common industrial gear reducers and machine mounting surfaces. Rotor length index 4 influences the motor’s torque characteristics, while winding designation L establishes its electrical configuration for operation with midrange bus voltages. The inductive feedback design eliminates the need for batteries, and the sealed frame remains protected during high-pressure rinsing.
