The AKM54K-ACCN1-01 is a synchronous servo motor produced by Kollmorgen within the AKM Synchronous Servo Motors series. It converts drive current from a matched servo amplifier into controlled torque and speed for positioning axes, pick-and-place heads, or other motion modules in automated machinery. Because it is supplied without an electromechanical holding brake, static load support must be handled externally. Integrated electronic commutation and optical feedback provide real-time shaft position data to the controller.

Electrical and mechanical interfaces are standardized. Power and signal leads exit through 2 SpeedTec Ready connectors, a quick-locking style that reduces installation time and guards against wiring errors. Mounting follows an IEC flange with accuracy N, so the motor bolts directly to gearboxes or frames that share this tolerance class. A square face size of 108 mm defines the frame and sets the bolt circle and shaft height. Position information is generated at 1024 lines/rev, which gives 4096 quadrature counts per revolution after interpolation and supports moderate-resolution speed loops. The integrated Comcoder merges Hall commutation tracks with the incremental code disk, allowing one sensor package to report both vector alignment and shaft angle.

The feedback is single-turn optical, so the device returns absolute position within one revolution and does not provide multi-turn data. Signal formatting follows EPC 15T, enabling direct connection to Kollmorgen AKD drives without adapter boards. Environmental sealing is enhanced by a factory-installed shaft seal, and the keyway shaft supplies positive torque transfer to pulleys or couplings. Internal geometry follows Rotor length index 4, and winding code K aligns the stator resistance with standard bus voltages while keeping current demand within the drive's rating.
