The AKM54-SSSNR-02 is a synchronous motor that operates at a higher power density than conventional motor designs; it is a low-cost motor that works in combination with a compatible drive controller to form a rapid response system for production and processing machines. The motor functions at one of the highest performance standards recorded for servo motors; this operation standard is maintained in environments previously considered to be out of reach for servo motor designs. The shaft integrated with this motor is able to support a maximum radial force of 830 newtons and a maximum axial force of 1740 newtons. The shaft will support these loads for as long as the motor is in operation; it has an infinite service life with 99 percent reliability. The safety factor of the shaft is 2.

The Winding temperature of the AKM54-SSSNR-02 motor is measured with the isolated PTC Avalanche-type thermal sensor present in the motor. However, operations should not be that the thermal sensors do not provide any protection against short, heavy overloading. There is a resolver designed to function as the feedback unit of this motor; the resolver requires an input current of 46 milliamperes and an input voltage of approximately 8 volts. The operating temperature for the feedback unit in the motor is between -55 to about 155 degrees Celsius.

The AKM54-SSSNR-02 motor requires specially designed cables for its power and feedback connections. These cables are separate and independent components that require separate installation by operators; they are not delivered with the motor.
