The AKM53L-ANC2AA-00 is a synchronous servo motor manufactured by Kollmorgen within the AKM Synchronous Servo Motors series. Intended for closed-loop industrial automation, the unit couples with a digital servo drive to deliver commanded torque and velocity to conveyors, pick-and-place heads, and axis tables. By combining a compact electromagnetic design with high-precision feedback, the motor provides accurate position control while maintaining the response times required for rapid production cycles. It integrates into multi-axis gantries, indexing tables, and form-fill-seal stations where fast settling and repeatable accuracy are critical. The connected drive can correct tracking errors as payload inertia and process forces change during operation.
A built-in 24 V holding brake secures the shaft when power is removed so vertically mounted loads do not drift. Electrical and feedback terminations use two SpeedTec-ready connectors, allowing quick, tool-free coupling during installation. Position data are provided by a 2,048-line-per-revolution incremental track that is scanned by the integrated BiSS-B encoder, enabling fine interpolated motion profiles. The sensing element provides single-turn optical feedback, eliminating multi-turn gearing and reducing inertia at the rotor end.
The feedback connector uses AD34/AD58 coding and matches standard Kollmorgen hybrid cables. An IEC flange with accuracy class N mates directly to gearboxes or mounting plates without alignment shims, and the 108 mm frame size keeps the outer diameter consistent with other size-5 AKM models. Torque is transferred through a smooth shaft, reducing runout and accommodating press-fit couplings. Rotor length index 3 increases stack depth for higher continuous torque, while winding designation L tailors resistance and inductance for medium-voltage drives.
