The AKM53L-ACC2C-0W is a brushless servo motor produced by Kollmorgen in the AKM Synchronous Servo Motors series. It converts electrical power into controlled rotary motion for positioning tables, pick-and-place heads, and other closed-loop axes used in automated equipment. Falling within the AKM5 frame class, the unit is sized for mid-range torque demands and is intended to be driven by Kollmorgen servo amplifiers that regulate speed and torque with high accuracy.
Mechanical and electrical interfaces are set by several hardware features. A 108 mm square frame sets the outer dimension, and the flange follows the IEC pattern with accuracy class N for straightforward machine or gearbox mounting. Power and feedback are routed through two SpeedTec Ready connectors, an arrangement that supports keyed quarter-turn locking for rapid installation. The shaft is finished with a keyway, enabling positive torque transfer to pulleys or couplings. For load security during emergency stops or power loss, a 24 V holding brake is fitted at the non-drive end. Internally, winding designation L establishes the resistance and inductance values that balance continuous current capability against thermal rise. Position data is delivered through the SFD single-cable feedback interface, eliminating the need for a separate encoder lead.
The feedback path provides the motor with digital position reporting for closed-loop control. The sensor delivers 4 lines of differential signals, providing digital position data at the drive input. Its measuring element is single-turn inductive, so absolute position is reported within one revolution without optical components. The mechanical envelope of the device follows Size 10/15/21, keeping the feedback hardware compact inside the motor end bell. To align output torque with inertia requirements, the design uses Rotor Length Index 3, a mid-length rotor that increases active steel without changing the 108 mm frame.
