Product Description:
The AKM53K-CC5NR-01 synchronous servo motor is built by Kollmorgen for integration into closed-loop motion axes in packaging, printing, and material-handling machines. As part of the AKM Synchronous Servo Motors series, it converts drive current into controlled rotary motion for repeatable positioning tasks. The motor uses mechanical interfaces common to IEC equipment, enabling direct coupling to gearheads or belt stages while fitting within compact machine layouts. Its permanent-magnet design supports responsive acceleration and precise speed regulation when paired with a compatible servo drive. The rigid housing also provides a stable mounting platform for applications that experience frequent starts, stops, and direction changes.
This model is supplied without a brake, so an external mechanical lock or drive-applied torque must hold the load at a standstill. Contamination at the shaft opening is limited because the housing is fitted with a shaft seal. Rotor position is detected by a resolver, whose two-phase winding provides two-pole feedback for smooth commutation in electrically noisy environments. The resolver uses single-turn inductive sensing, allowing the drive to determine the shaft angle within one mechanical revolution. Size 10/15/21 coding indicates the physical envelope of the feedback package and supports connection to the corresponding Kollmorgen resolver harnesses. Mechanical attachment uses an alternative flange variant C, which has a square mounting face and a pilot diameter positioned to match compatible machine plates without additional adapters. This flange arrangement supports accurate motor alignment, helping reduce unwanted loading on connected couplings and gearbox bearings.
The stator iron stack corresponds to rotor length index 3, balancing continuous torque capability and inertia for midrange servo axes. The motor has an overall face dimension of 108 mm, providing a mounting profile suited to many planetary gearboxes. Output torque is transmitted through a keyway machined into the shaft, providing positive engagement with couplings and pulleys. The motor uses winding code K, a coil arrangement that matches the voltage constant to common 240 V and 480 V drives so the motor can reach full speed without field weakening. The keyed shaft is suitable for applications where the coupling must resist slipping during rapid acceleration, deceleration, or reversing motion.
