Product Description:
The AKM53H-ANCNAA-00 is a synchronous servo motor built by Kollmorgen for the AKM Synchronous Servo Motors series. It delivers tight velocity and position control for packaging, assembly, and material-handling machinery where rapid indexing and accuracy are required. Supplied without an internal holding brake, it is intended for axes that maintain position through drive current or external locking devices. The motor and its encoder system support integration with Kollmorgen servo drives to create closed-loop motion systems for a variety of industrial automation platforms.
The primary feedback device is a BiSS B encoder with an optical, single-turn architecture that provides a base resolution of 2,048 lines per revolution. When interpolated by the drive, this count provides fine incremental angle data for smooth torque production and precise electronic gearing. The encoder head uses the AD34/AD58 form factor, allowing it to connect with compatible drive-side cables without adapters. Power and signal cables connect to the housing through two SPEEDTEC-ready connectors. These keyed plugs support toolless quarter-turn locking and reduce the time required to secure the connections during installation.
The mechanical interface uses an IEC flange with accuracy class N, providing consistent pilot and bolt-circle tolerances for installation with compatible IEC-sized equipment. The overall frame width is 108 mm, which establishes the available stator diameter and supports bending-load calculations when the motor is mounted in a cantilevered position. A smooth shaft extends from the front bearing, eliminating the keyway that can introduce backlash when used with low-torque clamping couplings. Internally, the stator uses an H winding that corresponds with drive data for electrical and thermal operating values. A rotor length index of 3 increases the active stack height to raise continuous torque without changing the flange pattern. The absence of a shaft key also allows precise alignment with suitable compression-style couplings while maintaining a balanced mechanical connection at operating speed.
