Product Description:
The AKM53G-SSCNR-02 is a permanent-magnet servo motor manufactured by Kollmorgen as part of the AKM Synchronous Servo Motors series. This motor delivers tightly regulated speed and position control in automated machinery, packaging equipment, and material-handling axes where fast response and compact dimensions are important. It is suited for applications that require repeatable acceleration, stable velocity control, and accurate stopping points during cyclic operation. When paired with a compatible servo drive, it supports closed-loop motion with high dynamic stiffness and consistent response under changing load conditions.
The electrical interface is provided through 2 SpeedTec Ready connectors, a keyed layout that supports secure installation and maintains shield integrity under vibration. Because the rotor comes without a brake, any holding torque during power loss must be supplied by the drive or by an external clamp. Position information is generated by a Resolver that delivers sine-cosine signals, and its 2 poles match the motor’s magnetic geometry. The feedback device is a Single turn, inductive design, so position is tracked within one mechanical revolution without multi-turn electronics. These signals allow the connected drive to manage commutation and monitor rotor position during changing operating conditions.
The motor uses a Special Flange rather than the standard AKM mounting pattern, which helps it fit customized gearheads attached to the 108 mm square frame. Within that frame, Rotor length index 3 provides a balance of thermal capacity and inertia for mid-range continuous torque. Torque production is also matched to Winding code G, which suits typical 400 V bus drives. The shaft is supplied in a special configuration for nonstandard couplings while maintaining alignment accuracy. This layout supports integration where standard mounting or shaft arrangements are not suitable.
