Product Description:
The AKM52H-BKCN2-00 is a permanent-magnet synchronous servo motor built by Kollmorgen in the AKM Synchronous Servo Motors series. It functions as a compact rotary actuator for closed-loop motion tasks in industrial automation. When paired with a suitable drive, it delivers precise torque and speed regulation for conveyors, pick-and-place axes, and light machine-tool positioning stages. Its synchronous design supports repeatable motion where fast response and stable feedback are important. The motor fits medium-power applications common on packaging, semiconductor, and material-handling lines.
The motor is supplied without a brake, so mechanical holding devices or drive torque are required to maintain position during power loss. Power and encoder signals exit through two SpeedTec Ready connectors, which use a quarter-turn lock for secure cable attachment. Internal sensing provides 2048 lines per revolution of incremental resolution, supporting accurate speed monitoring and position updates during closed-loop operation. The integrated Comcoder element combines optical tracks for commutation with incremental channels in one feedback system. A NEMA flange pattern gives predictable mounting geometry when the unit is bolted to gearheads or directly to machinery.
The position transducer is single-turn optical, so absolute angle is available within one revolution, while multi-turn counting is handled in the controller. A square frame dimension of 108 mm sets the stator cross-section and influences thermal mass, which is useful where machine space is limited. The output shaft features an open keyway, allowing secure torque transfer when pulleys, couplings, or timing wheels are installed. Electrical characteristics follow the H winding, which gives the resistance, inductance, and nominal current used with rotor length index 2. The feedback wheel uses Kollmorgen's EPC 15T code.
