The AKM52G-ACCNDA-00 is a permanent-magnet synchronous servo motor manufactured by Kollmorgen and supplied through the AKM Synchronous Servo Motors series. It is designed to convert drive current into tightly regulated torque and speed, allowing precise position control on automated machinery such as feeders, gantry axes, and metering pumps. When paired with a compatible Kollmorgen servo drive, the motor operates within a closed-loop motion system that requires high repeatability and fast dynamic response. Its permanent-magnet design supports efficient operation during demanding industrial automation tasks.
This model is cabled through two SpeedTec-ready connectors, so the power and signal lines lock without tools and simplify installation. The housing spans 108 mm, giving the motor a compact footprint while maintaining an effective thermal path. The mounting face uses an IEC flange with accuracy class N, allowing installation with similarly sized IEC equipment. The internal copper uses winding designation G, matching the motor’s electrical constants to the voltage range supported by typical AKD drives. Because the brake system is omitted, external holding equipment may be required when the drive is disabled. Output torque is delivered through a keyway shaft, providing positive mechanical engagement with couplings or pulleys and preventing slip under peak load conditions.
Rotor position is monitored by an EnDat 2.1 encoder, whose bidirectional serial channel sends real-time angular data to the drive. The optical scale provides a base resolution of 512/2048 lines per revolution, which the controller can interpolate for finer positional granularity. The ECN1113/1313 encoder style indicates that the motor uses a single-turn optical sensing module. A rotor length index of 2 indicates the magnetic stack depth selected to balance rotor inertia and continuous torque. The encoder supplies the position data needed for accurate commutation, speed regulation, and closed-loop positioning. This single-turn arrangement reports absolute position within one mechanical revolution, while the drive processes the incoming feedback for responsive motion control.
