Product Description:
The AKM52G-ACCN2-00 is a synchronous servo motor produced by Kollmorgen within the AKM Synchronous Servo Motors series. It is intended for closed-loop motion axes where accurate velocity and position control are required, such as pick-and-place gantries or indexing tables in automated machinery. By pairing electromagnetic torque generation with an integrated optical feedback device, the unit supplies rapid response while maintaining precise commutation across its operating speed range.
Mechanical mounting uses an IEC flange with accuracy class N, so the motor aligns directly with gearheads or frames that share this international standard. The square housing has a width of 108 mm, providing a compact footprint relative to the rated torque produced by rotor length index 2. The optical scale generates position data at 2048 lines per revolution, and the internal Comcoder conditions these signals for the drive controller. The EPC 15T coding format supplies incremental and commutation tracks in one device. Its single-turn optical architecture eliminates the need for multi-turn batteries when position must be resolved within only one mechanical revolution. Winding designation G sets the electrical constants that allow the drive to deliver current matching the motor’s back-EMF profile during dynamic acceleration.
Field wiring is simplified by two SpeedTec-ready connectors that lock with a quarter turn and direct the power and feedback leads toward the rear face. The rotor carries a shaft machined with a keyway, permitting positive torque transfer to pulleys or couplings. Because the unit is supplied without a brake, vertical axes must rely on an external holding method when drive torque is unavailable. The motor has the standard customization level, with no application-specific mechanical or electrical modifications. This configuration supports installation in automated equipment that requires separate power and feedback connections while preserving a compact motor profile.
