Product Description:
The AKM51H-ANC2LB-00 is a synchronous servo motor produced by Kollmorgen as part of the AKM Synchronous Servo Motors series. Designed for closed-loop motion axes in packaging machines, robots, and test stands, the unit converts drive amplifier output into precise rotary motion for controlled loads. Its permanent-magnet design supports responsive torque production and accurate movement when paired with a compatible servo drive. The motor carries winding code H for its stator coils and uses rotor length index 1 to balance torque capability and rotor inertia in medium-frame systems.
The integrated 24 V holding brake clamps the rotor when power is removed, preventing suspended or vertical loads from drifting. Electrical connections are provided through two SpeedTec-ready connectors, allowing quick, keyed attachment of the power and feedback cables. Position data are supplied by an EnDat 2.1 encoder that supports bidirectional serial communication with compatible controllers. Its measuring system provides a base resolution of 16/32 lines per revolution before electronic interpolation improves the available position information. An IEC flange with accuracy class N aligns the motor with a gearbox, ball screw, or direct-drive mount while maintaining standardized mounting tolerances. The winding configuration provides electrical and thermal characteristics suited to general-purpose servo operation without external cooling.
In addition to absolute single-turn position data, the encoder provides multi-turn inductive tracking through the EQI1130/1331 sensor head. This arrangement allows the drive to retain the shaft position across 4,096 revolutions without relying on a battery. The square frame measures 108 mm across, providing a compact mounting envelope for closely spaced machine axes. Output torque is transferred through a smooth shaft, which accepts backlash-free clamping couplings where installation space is limited. The shaft arrangement also avoids the alignment requirements associated with a keyed coupling, while the encoder supplies immediate position information after each power cycle.
