Product Description:
The AKM44S-SSC2R-N2 is a synchronous servo motor produced by Kollmorgen for the AKM Synchronous Servo Motors series. It serves as an electromechanical actuator in automated production lines, converting drive current into regulated torque and speed for positioning tables, feed rollers, and small gantries. Designed for closed-loop operation with compatible Kollmorgen drives, the motor responds to motion commands with rapid acceleration and precise settling, supporting repeatable cycles in packaging, electronic assembly, and material-handling systems.
The integrated 24 V holding brake secures the shaft when power is removed, helping prevent load movement on vertical axes. Power and feedback leads terminate through two SpeedTec-ready connectors, allowing keyed connections without tools and simplifying cable installation. Position information comes from a two-pole resolver that supplies rotor angle data to the drive across the operating speed range. The resolver provides single-turn inductive feedback, so the drive can determine the shaft position within one mechanical revolution without multi-turn memory. Its sensing hardware uses the standardized Size 10/15/21 form factor, providing a compact feedback arrangement inside the motor housing. The mounting face measures 84 mm across, allowing the motor to fit within compact multi-axis machine frames while leaving space for adjacent components and cable routing.
A special flange differs from the standard square mounting pattern, allowing the stator housing to align with nonstandard gearboxes, brackets, or machine interfaces. The magnetic stack uses Rotor Length Index 4, which provides increased active rotor length and supports higher continuous torque without increasing the motor’s frame width. The stator incorporates a special winding selected to match the electrical requirements of the intended drive system and operating duty. A special shaft interface supports custom couplings that require a different connection from the standard shaft arrangement. These mounting, shaft, and winding options allow the motor to accommodate application-specific load, speed, and installation requirements while retaining the compact AKM44 frame format.
