Product Description:
The AKM44S-SSC2R is a synchronous servomotor from the house of Kollmorgen. It is designed exclusively for drives for machine tools, industrial robots, packing and textile machinery, and similar equipment that require a high level of stability and dynamics. The motor is intended to be driven by a servo amplifier from the same manufacturer under speed and/or torque control. The device should never be directly connected to the mains supply. The motor features the S winding type. The thermal contact integrated into the motor windings should be observed and evaluated. The unit has permanent magnets in the rotor. The neodymium-iron-boron magnetic material is a crucial factor in dynamically driving the motor. A three-phase winding driven by the servo amplifier is integrated into the stator. The motor comes with an in-built Resolver that acts as the standard feedback element. The servo amplifier used evaluates the resolver position and supplies sinusoidal currents to the servomotor. The device is equipped with rotatable angular connectors for power supply and feedback signals. The delivery package doesn’t contain the mating connectors. However, the manufacturer can supply the pre-assembled resolver and power cables. The 24V holding brake is designed as a standstill brake and isn’t suited for repeated operational braking. If the holding brake is released, it is possible to move the rotor without a remnant torque. When a holding brake is mounted, the motor length increases. The AKM servomotor has 10 poles. The motor should be protected from unacceptable stresses during transport, assembly, and operation. Only qualified and trained staff with knowledge of mechanical engineering should assemble the servomotor. During handling and transport, care should be taken so that the components of the motor don’t bend, and the insulation clearances remain unaltered. Axial load should be avoided on the motor shaft as much as possible. Axial loading seems to shorten the motor’s life significantly.
