The AKM44E-SSCNR-04 is a brushless servo motor assembled by Kollmorgen for the AKM Synchronous Servo Motors series. In automated machinery, it supplies closed-loop torque and position control, allowing motion controllers to drive axes precisely without mechanical backlash. The unit fits medium-frame applications where compact dimensions and resolver feedback are preferred, making it appropriate for packaging, electronic assembly, and pick-and-place stages. It converts drive current into synchronous rotation that follows commanded motion profiles.
The motor’s power and signal cabling is handled through two SpeedTec-ready connectors, which use a twist-lock arrangement that reduces installation time and maintains the enclosure seal once engaged. Rotor position and velocity are reported by a resolver, providing analog sine-cosine feedback that resists electrical noise. This transducer uses a single-turn inductive architecture, so the controller can read the absolute angle within one mechanical revolution.
