Product Description:
The AKM44E-GNCNR-00 servo motor is produced by Kollmorgen for the AKM Synchronous Servo Motors series. The motor delivers tightly regulated torque and speed to indexing tables, pick-and-place carriages, and other motion-controlled stages that require repeatable positioning under PLC supervision. Its compact design supports closely spaced axes in packaging, electronics, and material-handling equipment without requiring excessive machine space. The synchronous design provides responsive motion when paired with a compatible servo drive, while closed-loop operation allows the controller to correct position and velocity errors as operating loads change.
The feedback assembly uses a resolver with 2 poles. This electromechanical sensor supplies sine-cosine signals that the drive converts into shaft-angle information, permitting smooth commutation during rapid acceleration and low-speed operation. Position data is routed through two SpeedTec-ready connectors, and the keyed plugs simplify cable installation while maintaining shield continuity for resistance to electrical noise. The housing measures 84 mm across the flange, providing a compact mounting interface for crowded machine layouts. Torque is transmitted through a smooth shaft that mates with clamping couplings without a keyway, helping reduce mechanical play in the connected drive train. The housing supports the motor’s 44-frame rotor stack while maintaining the stiffness needed for accurate servo response.
An alternative G flange provides mounting holes positioned to match compatible Kollmorgen gearheads, allowing the motor to seat directly against suitable reducers or brackets. The rotor stack index 4 indicates additional lamination length for higher continuous torque without increasing the frame width. The unit is supplied without a brake, so applications requiring static holding torque must use motor energization or an external mechanical clamp. Resolver feedback operates as a single-turn inductive system, providing shaft position within one mechanical revolution and supporting straightforward reference routines. The winding designation is E, and the standard customization level uses the corresponding catalog electrical constants. This configuration is intended for controlled rotary axes that rely on the connected drive for commutation, position regulation, and stationary torque when the motor remains energized.
