Product Description:
The AKM43K-SSCNEH-02 servo motor is built by Kollmorgen and belongs to the AKM Synchronous Servo Motors series. In automated packaging lines, pick-and-place gantries, and light machining centers, the motor provides precise rotary motion by converting controlled stator currents into repeatable torque and velocity. The unit works with Kollmorgen AKD drives or other compatible controllers to form a closed-loop axis that supports accurate positioning and rapid dynamic response. Its permanent-magnet synchronous design provides controlled acceleration and stable operation across changing production loads.
The motor is supplied without a brake, so the drive can provide holding torque while powered, but an external mechanical lock is required to secure a load during a power loss. Power and feedback cables connect through two SPEEDTEC-ready connectors, which support keyed, quarter-turn mating and organized cable routing. A special flange differs from the standard IEC square pattern and allows direct attachment to compatible custom gearboxes or mounting plates. The stator housing has a width of 84 mm, providing a compact footprint for machines with limited mounting space. The magnetic stack corresponds to rotor length index 3, balancing continuous torque capability with rotor inertia for moderate load profiles. These physical characteristics allow the motor to fit compact rotary axes without requiring a conventional square mounting interface.
A specially machined shaft supports nonstandard coupling arrangements, including interference-fit pulleys and hollow-bore encoder assemblies. This shaft configuration can reduce the need for intermediate adapters when the connected mechanism requires a customized output interface. The motor uses winding code K, which indicates a turns count and conductor gauge suited to compatible 230–480 V class inverters. Its phase resistance and inductance allow the connected drive to regulate current efficiently during acceleration, steady-speed operation, and controlled deceleration. Shared dimensional references within the product series help machine designers coordinate mounting clearances and cable paths across neighboring motor frame sizes. Compatible feedback options also allow the drive to monitor rotor position and adjust current continuously as torque demand changes.
