Product Description:
The AKM43G-BKCNR-00 is a synchronous servo motor built by Kollmorgen for the AKM Synchronous Servo Motors series. As a compact rotary actuator, it converts current from a compatible servo amplifier into controlled torque and speed for indexing tables, pick-and-place axes, and other automated motion systems. Closed-loop operation allows the amplifier to correct changes in shaft position and velocity while the machine is running. The motor has a standard customization level, allowing integration with compatible drives, gearheads, and motion-control equipment without application-specific housing changes.
This model routes power and feedback through two SpeedTec-ready connectors, which use a quarter-turn locking mechanism to secure the cable connections. Position information is supplied by resolver feedback, providing durable sinusoidal signals in machinery exposed to electrical noise, vibration, or repeated motion. The motor has an 84 mm square frame, giving it a compact profile for multi-axis gantries and closely spaced machine assemblies. Its NEMA flange configuration allows the housing to attach to standardized mounting plates without an additional adapter ring. The stator uses a performance-optimized G winding that balances current demand and thermal rise across the applicable operating range. A single-turn inductive feedback arrangement uses a Size 10/15/21 resolver package, keeping the feedback assembly compact within the motor housing.
The shaft has an open keyway, allowing torque to pass directly into keyed pulleys, gearboxes, or rigid couplings instead of relying entirely on clamping friction. The motor is supplied without a brake, so stationary holding force must come from drive-applied torque or an external clamping device when the axis is stopped. Its magnetic arrangement uses two poles to establish the electrical angle required by the controller for motor commutation. The motor has rotor length index 3, a medium stack length that balances rotational inertia with continuous torque capability. This rotor arrangement supports responsive acceleration while retaining the magnetic volume needed for sustained operation in repetitive motion cycles.
