Product Description:
The AKM43E-EKMNR-00 is a brushless servo motor manufactured by Kollmorgen for the AKM Synchronous Servo Motors series. Designed for closed-loop motion axes in packaging, assembly, and material-handling systems, it converts drive commands into precise shaft rotation for repeatable automation tasks. Electronic commutation allows the connected servo drive to regulate torque, speed, and position as operating conditions change. The motor uses the series’ standard customization level, with mechanical and electrical interfaces that follow the established configuration for this product family.
The motor has a square frame measuring 84 mm, which supports alignment with compatible gearheads and machine mounting surfaces. Inside the housing, rotor length index 3 indicates the active magnetic stack used to balance torque output and rotor inertia. The electrical configuration uses winding designation E, a coil arrangement suited to compatible mid-voltage servo drives. Position feedback is supplied by a resolver, a rugged electromagnetic sensor that tolerates shock and temperature variation better than many optical feedback devices. The resolver uses a 2-pole excitation arrangement to provide predictable sine-cosine signals for rotor commutation and position monitoring. Its single-turn inductive feedback reports the absolute rotor angle within one mechanical revolution without battery-backed memory. This feedback method allows the drive to determine shaft position immediately after power is applied, provided that the resolver interface is properly connected and configured.
The shaft has an open keyway, allowing couplings or pulleys to transmit torque through positive mechanical engagement. The motor is supplied without a brake, so an external clamping device or active servo torque must hold the load when required. Applications with vertical or gravity-loaded axes should account for the absence of a brake when planning power-off behavior. The feedback assembly uses the industrial Size 10/15/21 form factor, which provides a standardized physical arrangement for the resolver components. Proper shaft coupling alignment and secure feedback wiring help maintain accurate motion while reducing unnecessary mechanical stress on the motor and connected equipment.
