The AKM42J-ACC2EF00 is a synchronous servo motor built by Kollmorgen for the AKM Synchronous Servo Motors series. As a compact rotary actuator, it provides closed-loop torque and position control for packaging lines, electronic assembly systems, and other automation applications that require precise axis movement. Its permanent-magnet design supports responsive acceleration and controlled rotation when paired with a compatible servo drive. The motor belongs to the manufacturer’s mid-frame group, making it suitable for machinery that requires high dynamic performance without using excessive installation space.
Integrated power-off holding is provided by a 24 V holding brake, allowing the shaft to remain fixed whenever supply power is removed. Power, feedback, and brake leads exit through two SpeedTec-ready connectors, which support quick-lock mating where access is limited. The front face uses an IEC flange with accuracy class N, allowing the motor to attach directly to compatible gearheads or machine plates while maintaining precise alignment. The housing has an 84 mm frame width, which supports side-by-side mounting in compact multi-axis assemblies. Output torque is transmitted through a shaft with a keyway, providing positive engagement with pulleys, gearboxes, or rigid couplings. This keyed interface helps prevent relative movement between the shaft and the attached component during acceleration, deceleration, or direction changes.
The motor is supplied with the Standard customization level, so it does not include special seals, coatings, or custom feedback options. A rotor length index of 2 indicates the magnetic stack depth used for this frame and establishes its torque characteristics. Its thermal and electrical characteristics correspond to winding designation J, which is intended for use with suitable 230 V class servo drives. Correct drive parameters are required so the controller can regulate motor current, monitor operating conditions, and maintain stable closed-loop performance. The motor can be paired with compatible AKD and S700 servo amplifiers for coordinated torque, speed, and position control in automated machinery.
