Product Description:
The AKM42G-HCC21-00 is an AC synchronous servo motor built by Kollmorgen as part of the AKM Synchronous Servo Motors series. It serves as a compact rotary actuator that sends position feedback to the drive, allowing industrial controllers to command rapid starts, accurate speed loops, and stable holding torque. The unit’s mechanical outline, flange, and feedback system make it suitable for integration into automated assembly stations, inspection equipment, and small gantry axes.
The motor includes a 24 V holding brake that clamps the shaft when power is removed and prevents vertical loads from drifting. Power and signal wiring pass through two SpeedTec-ready connectors, allowing the cables to lock in place with a quick quarter-turn connection. Position data comes from an internal encoder that produces 1,024 lines per revolution, providing 4,096 counts per revolution for commutation and velocity control. The encoder is a Comcoder, which combines incremental tracks with commutation channels and eliminates the need for a separate resolver. As a single-turn optical encoder, it references the shaft position within one revolution without using multi-turn gearing.
Inside the feedback assembly, an EPC 15T code wheel provides the electrical interface expected by Kollmorgen AKD and S200 drives. Mounting uses an alternative flange variant H, providing pilot and bolt patterns that align with alternate IEC faces when the standard flange is unsuitable. The square frame measures 84 mm across, matching the AKM size 4 housing while balancing torque density with a compact footprint. Torque is transmitted through a shaft with a keyway, providing positive engagement with a compatible coupling. Winding designation G pairs with rotor length index 2 to provide moderate continuous torque while keeping the overall motor length short. The unit is delivered with the standard customization level, so its external dimensions, seals, and finish follow the default configuration for this motor series.
