Product Description:
The AKM42G-ANC22-00 is a brushless servo motor designed by Kollmorgen as part of the AKM Synchronous Servo Motors series. It fits Kollmorgen’s size-42 frame class and is intended for closed-loop motion tasks in pick-and-place modules, indexing tables, and other automation axes that require a high dynamic response. A rare-earth rotor with low cogging enables precise torque control across a broad speed range while keeping the package compact for robot-arm and machine mounting. The motor connects directly to Kollmorgen digital drives through its ready-made connector layout.
Mechanical integration is simplified by an IEC flange with accuracy N that aligns the motor with standard gearboxes. The front face measures 84 mm across, matching the AKM 42 frame code, and the output end uses a smooth shaft for backlash-free coupling with clamped hubs. Power and feedback cables are routed through two SpeedTec-ready connectors, allowing quarter-turn locking during installation. A factory-installed 24 V holding brake secures vertical loads when power is removed. The coil is energized by the drive’s brake relay and releases in less than 50 ms. Thermal and winding data correspond to the “G” designation, supporting continuous current ratings for mid-torque applications.
Position feedback is delivered by a Comcoder sensor that provides 2048 lines per revolution of incremental information while also carrying a single-turn optical absolute track for immediate position capture at power-up. The sensing element follows the EPC 15T coding scheme, ensuring direct compatibility with S300 and AKD drives without scale conversion. The rotor length index is 2, so the magnetic stack uses the mid-length option in the AKM 4x family to balance inertia and peak torque. The motor has the Standard customization level, with no customer-specific seals, coatings, or windings applied beyond the G winding baseline.
