Product Description:
The AKM42G-ACC2R-00 is a synchronous servo motor manufactured by Kollmorgen as part of the AKM Synchronous Servo Motors series. It is supplied in a standard configuration for general-purpose motion axes on automated machinery. By integrating a brushless rotor, stator windings, and a built-in feedback element, the unit delivers position and velocity control for indexing tables, Cartesian robots, and coordinated multi-axis cells in industrial automation.
The motor includes a 24 V holding brake that clamps the shaft when power is removed, helping prevent back-driving under vertical or inertial loads. Power and feedback lines exit through two SpeedTec Ready connectors, which support toolless cable installation and help maintain the housing seal. A resolver is used for rotor position sensing, giving analog sine-cosine signals that tolerate electrical noise and high temperatures. Mounting is handled by an IEC flange with accuracy N, ensuring interchangeability with standard gearheads and machine frames. The square frame measures 84 mm, which balances torque output with a compact footprint. Torque is transmitted through a shaft with a keyway, allowing hubs or pulleys to resist rotational slip while maintaining alignment.
Single-turn feedback is provided by a single-turn inductive resolver variant, so the controller receives absolute position within one revolution without using multi-turn electronics. The active stack depth follows rotor length index 2, yielding moderate continuous torque and inertia for mid-range load moments. The motor uses a G winding, which matches standard drive voltages and currents for 230 VAC class inverters. The resolver uses 2 poles for smooth commutation, the body size is 10/15/21 to fit within the rear housing, and the customization level is standard with no special seals or coatings.
