Product Description:
The AKM42E-ANRNMB-00 is a permanent-magnet synchronous servo motor manufactured by Kollmorgen as part of the AKM Synchronous Servo Motors series. Within an industrial automation line, the motor serves as a rotary actuator that couples to ball screws, gearheads, or belts, translating drive current into controlled shaft torque and speed. Its mid-frame design provides a fast response while occupying limited machine space, making it suitable for packaging stations, pick-and-place heads, and small palletizing joints.
Thermal management and holding functionality are simplified because the motor is supplied without a brake, eliminating the coil heat and wiring associated with parking mechanisms. The square housing measures 84 mm across the frame, so it can mount directly to compatible IEC gearboxes without adapter plates. Position feedback is delivered at 24-bit resolution by a DRIVE-CLiQ encoder, allowing the drive to close both velocity and position loops with high accuracy. Power and feedback wiring uses one M23-6 power connector and one M12 feedback connector, minimizing the number of machine connections and keeping the cable arrangement organized. The separate power and feedback interfaces also make each cable route easy to identify during installation and maintenance.
Beneath the connector flange, rotor length index 2 matches the stator stack to medium-inertia loads, while winding code E provides phase resistance suited to 230 V class drives. The integrated encoder is the EQN1336S model, which supplies optical, safety-rated multi-turn feedback for safe-motion functions such as monitored stopping or limited speed. Mounting accuracy is provided by an IEC pilot flange with accuracy class N, supporting precise alignment with compatible machine interfaces. Torque is transferred through a smooth shaft that mates with clamping couplings or taper sleeves without the stress concentration associated with a keyway. The permanent-magnet rotor supports responsive acceleration, while the synchronous design allows the connected servo drive to regulate speed and torque throughout repeated motion cycles.
