Product Description:
The AKM42E-ANCNR-00 is a brushless DC servomotor manufactured by Kollmorgen. The three-phase motor is operated in a drive system together with SERVOSTAR servo amplifiers. The device is installed as a component in electrical machines or apparatus and can only be commissioned and operated as an integral component of such apparatus or machine. The unit comes with angular connectors for feedback signals and power supply. The standard version of the servomotor features an electrically isolated PTC. It should be noted that the PTC doesn’t offer any protection against short, heavy overloading. In the case of the preassembled resolve cable being used, the PTC is integrated into the servo amplifier’s monitoring system. Axial loads should be avoided on the motor shaft as much as possible. It’s because axial loading seems to shorten the servomotor’s life. The standard weight of the device is 3.39 kg. The static friction torque of the motor is 0.026 Nm. The radial load permitted at the shaft end at 3000 min-1 is 450 N and the axial load permitted at the shaft end at 3000 min-1 is 180 N. Care should be taken when operating the motor and disconnecting the power connections. Even when the device is not rotating, power connections could be live. So, the power connections of the servomotor should never be disconnected when the equipment is energized. If done so, it can lead to flashovers resulting in damage to the contacts and injuries to persons. The surface of the unit can be too hot when it is in operation. The surface temperature of the motor can exceed 100°C. So, before touching it, one should measure the temperature, and wait until the device has cooled down below 40°C.
