Product Description:
The AKM42C-ACC2R-00 is a brushless servo motor manufactured by Kollmorgen for the AKM Synchronous Servo Motors series. It converts three-phase drive output into precise rotary motion for packaging stations, pick-and-place modules, and other automation axes that require tight speed and position control. Its permanent-magnet construction and compact frame support rapid load changes while maintaining low torque ripple across the operating range.
Safety during a power-off event is provided by a 24 V holding brake that locks the shaft and prevents an attached load from drifting. On-site wiring is streamlined through two SpeedTec-ready connectors that support quick, keyed engagement and help prevent incorrect cable alignment. Feedback comes from an integrated resolver whose winding pattern uses two poles to supply temperature-resistant sine-cosine signals to the drive. A square side length of 84 mm establishes the housing envelope for alignment with IEC 56 gear reducers. The motor has the standard customization level, so its coatings, seals, and cable options follow the baseline configuration for this model. The internal stator uses winding designation C, while rotor length index 2 balances continuous torque with overall mass for mid-inertia applications.
The motor uses a single-turn inductive resolver that reports the shaft angle within one mechanical revolution without relying on internal gearing. The feedback package follows the Size 10/15/21 dimensional family, providing the required physical format for the resolver assembly. Mounting uses an IEC flange with accuracy class N, which provides normal-tolerance pilot concentricity for alignment with couplings and supported machinery. Torque is transferred through a keyway machined into the shaft, providing positive engagement with pulleys or rigid couplings under bidirectional loads. The keyed shaft reduces the possibility of rotational slip when the motor repeatedly accelerates, decelerates, or reverses an attached mechanism.
