The AKM41S-ANCN2-02 is a synchronous servo motor produced by Kollmorgen within the AKM Synchronous Servo Motors series. The unit provides precise closed-loop torque and speed control for positioning axes in industrial automation equipment such as pick-and-place gantries and indexing tables. It converts electrical input from a matched servo drive into controlled rotary motion at the shaft. The compact motor format helps it fit machines where installation space is limited but accurate motion is still required.

The housing follows an IEC flange layout with accuracy grade IEC with accuracy N, so the motor mounts directly to standard gearheads or machine plates without added alignment bushings. An 84 mm square frame gives the motor a moderate footprint while preserving enough stator volume for its intended torque range. Power and feedback connections exit through 2 SpeedTec Ready connectors at the rear, and the quarter-turn locking style helps keep cable routing compact. The feedback system uses single-turn optical measurement, so absolute position is retained within one mechanical revolution while additional turns are handled by the drive. The encoder uses the EPC 15T protocol for electrical compatibility with AKD-series drives. The motor has a smooth shaft, which is suited to clamp-style couplings and avoids the stress concentration associated with keyed shaft profiles. A special winding tailors the back EMF constant for applications that need higher current at lower voltage. The motor is supplied without a brake, so holding torque must come from the drive when the axis is stopped. Its rotor length index of 1 keeps the stack short and helps limit inertia during rapid acceleration.
