Product Description:
The AKM41E-EKC2C-00 is a brushless synchronous servo motor produced by Kollmorgen for the AKM Synchronous Servo Motors series. Designed for precise motion duty, the motor converts drive current into controlled torque and velocity for packaging machinery, electronic assembly stations, and other industrial axes that demand tight positional repeatability. It is suitable for indexing, point-to-point moves, and continuous speed-controlled motion. Its brushless design also reduces routine wear parts in long-duty service.
Energized by a 24 V holding brake, the rotor can be locked when power is removed, preventing load drift on vertical or suspended axes. All electrical terminations are handled through 2 SpeedTec Ready connectors, which index quickly during installation while maintaining shield continuity for power and feedback. Inside the 84 mm square stator frame, the primary winding provides strong torque density while keeping copper losses within drive limits. Position data reach the drive through an SFD sensor that provides 4 lines of differential signals, supporting stable servo feedback at high update rates.
The feedback unit is configured as a single-turn inductive encoder, so absolute position within one mechanical revolution is available immediately after power-up without batteries. Mechanical coupling to the load is through an open keyway shaft that simplifies pulley or coupling alignment. The shaft form also allows standard keyed hubs to be mounted without a special adapter. With a rotor length index 1, this model uses the shortest stack in the size-4 housing, which helps reduce inertia during acceleration. The coil pack referenced by winding designation e balances current demand and back EMF to match mid-range drives. The feedback housing uses size 10/15/21 dimensions, matching common mechanical interfaces in the product family.
