The AKM32E-ANCNR-00 servo motor is manufactured by Kollmorgen as part of the AKM Synchronous Servo Motors series. It is a brushless AC actuator designed for integration into precision axes used in conveyors, pick-and-place heads, and light machining stations. Within an automation cell, the motor converts commanded current from a drive into controlled torque and speed, allowing programmable positioning and synchronized motion with minimal maintenance.
This model is supplied without a brake, so holding torque during power-off must be provided by the drive or external mechanics. Power and feedback signals pass through two SpeedTec-ready connectors; the keyed, quarter-turn design reduces wiring time and maintains IP sealing once locked. Rotor position is detected by a resolver with two-pole feedback resolution. This analog sensor tolerates electrical noise and temperature changes. The single-turn inductive feedback system provides absolute position information over one mechanical revolution, simplifying homing procedures. An IEC flange with accuracy class N uses a pilot diameter and bolt circle that fit gearboxes and mounting plates made according to IEC dimensional codes.
The motor has a 70 mm frame dimension, giving it a square face that fits compact machines while still accommodating stator windings for moderate continuous torque. A smooth shaft transmits power to compression hubs and similar clamping couplings without a keyway, minimizing runout during high-speed operation. The magnetic stack has rotor length 2, providing a balance between inertia and peak torque for rapid acceleration profiles. The internal copper geometry uses winding designation E, which pairs the motor with drives that supply the appropriate voltage and current for its impedance class. The compact frame supports installation where mounting space is limited. The shaft configuration also supports precise alignment with compatible couplings while avoiding the imbalance that can be introduced by a keyed connection.
