The AKM32C-ANCNDA-00 is a permanent-magnet synchronous servo motor manufactured by Kollmorgen and supplied within the AKM Synchronous Servo Motors series. Designed for closed-loop motion control, it converts electrical energy from a digital drive into tightly regulated rotation for pick-and-place heads, feeders, and indexing tables in industrial automation. Standard IEC mounting provisions let machine builders fasten the motor directly to gearboxes or frames, keeping axis assemblies compact and minimizing the need for custom adapter hardware.
The frame dimension of 70 mm provides a square housing that fits confined spaces while still allowing adequate stator volume for heat dissipation. A C winding adapts the electromagnetic circuit to common 320–325 VDC bus levels, so nominal torque is delivered without oversizing the inverter. Power and feedback conductors exit through two SpeedTec Ready connectors; these quarter-turn plugs simplify maintenance and prevent miswiring through the use of keyed shells. Rotor position is measured by an EnDat 2.1 encoder, which streams digital absolute values and stores electronic nameplate data for straightforward setup. Inside that sensor, an interpolated resolution of 512/2048 lines/rev enables the drive to command sub-arcminute moves and maintain tight velocity regulation during contouring.
A smooth shaft transmits torque through clamp or friction couplings, eliminating keyway stress and lowering radial runout at high speeds. The motor centers against an IEC flange with accuracy class N, ensuring reliable concentricity between the pilot and shaft for consistent gearhead alignment. A rotor length index of 2 indicates a magnetic stack that raises continuous torque compared with shorter variants while keeping the overall body length manageable. The unit is supplied without a brake, so static holding force must be provided by the drive or external mechanics when power is removed. For applications requiring single-turn absolute data, the internal ECN1113/1313 optical head supplies that information without batteries or multi-turn gearing.
