Product Description:
The AKM31E-ANC2R-00 is a rotary servo motor manufactured by Kollmorgen for the AKM Synchronous Servo Motors series. Serving as an electromechanical actuator, it delivers precise torque and velocity control that enables positioning stages, pick-and-place modules, and general industrial axes to follow commanded motion profiles. Integration is simplified because the motor shares electrical and mechanical conventions used throughout the AKM family, allowing machine builders to scale power levels without altering the control architecture. When coupled with a compatible digital drive, the motor maintains tight position loops under rapid load changes.
A 24 V holding brake locks the shaft during power loss to secure vertical or suspended loads. Power and feedback cables attach through two SpeedTec-ready connectors, which use bayonet latches for fast, tool-free installation. Position information is generated by an internal resolver whose rotor and stator produce analog sine-cosine signals. The device uses a two-pole electrical configuration suitable for medium-accuracy servo control. The motor uses winding designation E for its electrical and thermal operating characteristics. Its stator stack is housed in a 70 mm square frame that fits compact machinery while providing sufficient surface area for heat dissipation.
The feedback package follows the Size 10/15/21 form factor and uses a single-turn inductive resolver, eliminating multi-turn gearing and reducing the assembly length. Axial mounting uses an IEC flange with accuracy class N, so the motor can connect to standardized gearheads without shimming. The rotor length index 1 configuration minimizes inertia, helping axes accelerate quickly during short-stroke duty cycles. Torque is transmitted through a smooth shaft, which supports clamp or collet couplings that keep backlash low. The standard customization level allows compatible accessories to connect without specialized adapters.
