Product Description:
The AKM31E-ACCN2-00 is a brushless servo motor produced by Kollmorgen within the AKM Synchronous Servo Motors series. In automated assembly cells, packaging stations, and electronic camming axes, it provides precise torque and position control that follows the command profile from a Kollmorgen drive or a compatible third-party controller. Because it is intended for closed-loop servo operation, it supports repeatable motion, controlled acceleration, and accurate stopping in systems that cycle frequently. The motor can be used on indexing tables, feeders, and synchronized transport modules where command changes must be followed without excessive overshoot. That makes it suitable for coordinated motion tasks that depend on consistent tracking between the motor and the controller.
Electrical connection is established through two SpeedTec-ready connectors, which simplify cable attachment while keeping the housing sealed. Rotor position is captured by a Comcoder that provides 2048 lines/rev of incremental feedback, supporting stable velocity loops and smooth interpolation. It uses single-turn optical feedback and the EPC 15T protocol, so compatible drives can read position data within one shaft revolution. The motor uses winding code e, has rotor length index 1 for the shortest active stack in this frame, is built to the Standard customization level, and comes without a brake, so an external holding method is needed for vertical loads during shutdown.
Mechanical mounting uses an IEC flange with accuracy N, and the square frame dimension is 70 mm, which suits compact machine layouts and direct coupling arrangements. Output torque is transmitted through a keyway shaft, helping prevent slippage under cyclic loading and supporting secure power transfer to the driven element. This arrangement works well with compact gearheads, pulleys, or rigid couplings that need positive torque transmission on small servo axes. The square housing footprint also helps when nearby components limit mounting clearance around the motor body. Low added mechanical drag supports quick response in repetitive indexing duties where smooth motion is important.
