Product Description:
The AKM31C-ANCN2-00 is a synchronous servo motor produced by Kollmorgen as part of the AKM Synchronous Servo Motors series. Designed for dynamic positioning and speed regulation, it acts as the primary mover in closed-loop axes of assembly lines, electronic pick-and-place modules, and compact machining centers. The motor converts commanded phase current into tightly regulated torque, enabling repeatable motion cycles under changing load conditions. By combining standard industrial mounting and feedback conventions, it integrates into multi-axis systems without extensive mechanical or electrical reengineering.
Power and signal leads are routed through two SpeedTec Ready connectors, allowing keyed, toolless mating and minimizing changeover time. A frame width of 70 mm keeps the housing compact while still providing the surface area needed for continuous duty. The front face follows the IEC flange with accuracy N standard, so it bolts directly to gearheads or adapter plates that share this tolerance class. The rotor uses catalog length index 1, and torque is delivered through a smooth shaft that mates with clamp or compression couplings. For installations that rely on drive torque to hold position, the unit is supplied without a brake, which removes residual magnetic drag and reduces inertial mass.
Position data is generated by the integrated encoder package. The optical sensor offers 2048 lines/rev of base resolution and communicates by the Comcoder protocol for direct interface with Kollmorgen drives. Within the assembly, the code disk is configured as a single-turn optical system, so absolute position is retained over one revolution while multi-turn counting is handled in the controller. Electromagnetic performance follows winding designation C, which sets the voltage constant, current rating, and thermal curve that the drive must observe. The motor ships at the standard customization level.
