Product Description:
The AKM24D-CKBNC-00 is a brushless synchronous servo motor manufactured by Kollmorgen and assigned to the AKM Synchronous Servo Motors series. It is intended for tightly controlled motion in industrial automation, where servo drives command rapid acceleration, repeatable positioning, and synchronized velocity profiles across multiple machine axes. The motor couples directly to a Kollmorgen servo amplifier and delivers torque for feeders, indexing tables, and small robotic joints. Its permanent-magnet design also reduces routine maintenance requirements associated with mechanical commutation components.
The housing conforms to a 58 mm square frame, and its alternative flange variant C provides a different pilot diameter for OEM mounts. Power and feedback connections use 2 SpeedTec-ready connectors, allowing keyed, tool-free cabling where installation space is limited. The shaft has an open keyway, so it can transmit torque to pulleys or couplings without relying only on set screws. The motor uses rotor length index 4 and a D winding selected for compatible drive output characteristics. Because the unit has no brake, applications that require static holding torque must rely on drive-applied torque or an external clamp. The unit has the standard customization level, so its mechanical dimensions and electrical constants follow the standard configuration.
Position feedback is provided by an SFD transducer mounted to the stator. The transducer communicates rotor orientation through 4 lines of digital signals, allowing the servo drive to regulate commutation and shaft position. Its single-turn inductive sensor does not require battery-backed multi-turn components and resists magnetic interference. The signal geometry uses the Size 10/15/21 interface, allowing a compatible cable and drive card to support other motors that use the same feedback interface. This arrangement reduces feedback wiring complexity while preserving the signal response needed for tightly regulated motion loops.
