Product Description:
The AKM24D-ANCN2-00 is a brushless servo motor manufactured by Kollmorgen and supplied within the AKM Synchronous Servo Motors series. It generates precisely controlled torque and speed for positioning axes, pick-and-place heads, and other motion-focused automation tasks in packaging, handling, and assembly equipment. Its standard configuration allows the unit to fit IEC-pattern gearboxes or direct-drive stages without custom machining, making it suitable for compact servo installations in demanding automation layouts.
This model is built on a frame that measures 58 mm square and mounts to machinery through an IEC flange made to accuracy class N. Power and feedback reach the stator through two SpeedTec Ready connectors, which helps simplify cable routing in tight cabinets. The shaft is a smooth shaft, so motion is transferred through clamp or keyless hubs rather than spline inserts. An EPC sensor delivers 2048 lines/rev of position data, and the internal windings use the D designation, which indicates the resistance and voltage constants for medium-voltage servo drives. The motor is supplied without a brake, reducing overall length and inertia and leaving holding force to the driven axis or an external mechanism.
Position feedback relies on a Comcoder sensor that combines commutation tracks with incremental data in a single-turn optical format, eliminating multi-turn gears while still supporting precise homing routines. The design uses Kollmorgen's standard customization level, so the motor does not include application-specific modifications and remains aligned with the standard option set for this model. An index 4 rotor length increases active iron volume to raise continuous torque without changing the frame size. This layout improves torque density while keeping the mounting envelope compact. The specified EPC 15T coding allows compatible drive controllers to automatically recognize the motor through the feedback connector.
