Product Description:
The AKM24D-ACBNR-00 is a synchronous servo motor produced by Kollmorgen for the AKM Synchronous Servo Motors series. Within automated machinery, it converts commanded drive currents into tightly regulated rotary motion for high-precision positioning, contouring, and speed holding on axes such as pick-and-place actuators and packaging spindles. Its compact housing makes it suitable for machines that already use the AKM family footprint and need responsive servo control in limited space.
This model uses 2 SpeedTec Ready connectors, separating power and feedback lines while permitting tool-free coupling in tight spaces. The feedback device is a Resolver; its analog sine-cosine output tolerates electrical noise and high temperatures better than many optical encoder designs. The frame diameter is 58 mm, matching the AKM 2 frame class. The mounting face uses an IEC flange with accuracy N, letting the motor bolt directly to gearboxes or machinery built to international standards. Torque is transmitted through a keyway shaft, providing positive engagement with pulleys or couplings under bidirectional load. The unit comes in the standard customization level, carries rotor length index 4 for additional active iron, and uses a Size 10/15/21 resolver package matched to this mechanical envelope.
The motor is supplied without a brake, so holding torque during power-off must come from an external mechanism or the drive itself. The feedback system uses 2 poles, which supports straightforward commutation during startup and normal closed-loop operation. Position feedback is limited to single-turn inductive measurement, so the controller must track revolutions whenever multi-turn data is needed. A D winding sets the voltage-to-speed characteristic, allowing the motor to be matched with bus voltages commonly used on mid-power servo amplifiers while balancing continuous torque and thermal rise.
