The AKM23D-BNC22-00 is a brushless synchronous servo motor in the AKM Synchronous Servo Motors series from Kollmorgen. In automated machinery, it delivers precise torque and position control, allowing coordinated motion axes to follow drive commands with high repeatability and short cycle times. Its compact dimensions and closed-loop feedback suit packaging lines, pick-and-place gantries, and other stations that require consistent servo performance. Its response characteristics also make it suitable for indexing, point-to-point moves, and synchronized rotary tasks that must start, stop, and settle quickly.

The integrated 24 V holding brake keeps the shaft locked when power is removed, helping prevent vertical loads from drifting and reducing the need for external restraints. Power, signal, and ground conductors terminate through 2 SpeedTec Ready connectors, so installation is tool-free and the connections are keyed to reduce pinout errors. Rotor position is measured by a 2048 lines per revolution incremental encoder that works with the Comcoder feedback system to support fine resolution in servo loops. The flange uses a NEMA configuration, allowing the motor to mount directly to standard gearheads or machine plates without adapter rings. This layout keeps the motor interface compact and supports orderly cable routing in dense machine frames.

The feedback section is single-turn optical, which avoids multi-turn ambiguity and simplifies homing in short-stroke axes.
