Product Description:
The AKM23D-ACC2R-00 is a synchronous servo motor manufactured by Kollmorgen in the AKM Synchronous Servo Motors series. It is intended for closed-loop positioning and velocity tasks on automated axes, pairing rapid acceleration with repeatable torque production. In service, it works with a compatible drive to convert commanded electrical input into controlled rotary motion for indexing, feed, and transfer functions. That behavior is useful on compact packaging, handling, and assembly equipment where short move times and stable response are needed across repeated cycles. The unit fits integrated drive systems where space is limited but consistent electromechanical response is required for OEM machinery.
The motor is supplied with a 24 V holding brake, allowing the shaft to remain locked when power is removed during vertical or safety-related stops. Electrical and feedback lines connect through two SpeedTec Ready connectors, which allow quick quarter-turn coupling during installation. Position data is generated by a resolver, and its internal windings use a two-pole arrangement for drives that expect 360 electrical degrees per mechanical turn. The stator uses winding code D, and the housing has a 58 mm frame side with an IEC flange machined to accuracy class N for attachment to gearheads or machine plates.
The motor is provided in the standard customization level, so it follows the standard build for this model. A rotor length index of 3 balances torque output and inertia for mid-range load cycles. Feedback is available through single-turn inductive feedback, which allows absolute position retrieval within one mechanical revolution without a battery or multiturn gearing. Because the feedback remains absolute within one turn, the controller can identify rotor angle immediately after startup for controlled motion recovery. Power is transmitted through a shaft with a keyway, allowing direct coupling with keyed hubs while maintaining positive torque transfer.
