Kollmorgen produces the AKM23C-ENBNC-00 synchronous servomotor which is used with a servo amplifier for positioning tasks in industrial robots and other applications. Like other servomotors, the AKM23C-ENBNC-00 is precision equipment making it delicate. The flange and shaft are extremely susceptible to damage. The operator should avoid brute force. Use couplings that are frictionally-locking and devoid of backlash. The axial load should not be applied to the motor since it significantly shortens the lifespan of the motor. This motor can only be commissioned and put into operation as a part of a machine and should be connected directly to the mains supply.
The rare earth neodymium-iron-boron magnetic materials make it possible to drive this motor more dynamically. For temperature control, the AKM23C-ENBNC-00 is equipped with temperature sensors in the stator windings which receives electronic signals from the isolated thermistor.
