The AKM23C-ENBNC-00 is a synchronous servo motor built by Kollmorgen and belongs to the AKM Synchronous Servo Motors series. It is intended for closed-loop positioning and velocity control in automated assembly cells, pick-and-place equipment, and other motion platforms where low inertia and accurate torque delivery are required. When paired with a matching drive controller, the motor provides rapid acceleration, stable speed control, and repeatable positioning for synchronized multi-axis operation.

This model uses a frame cross-section of 58 mm, so it fits compact machinery while still allowing space for stator copper. Magnetic path length is extended by the rotor length index 3, which gives the motor a mid-range stack length that can support higher continuous torque than shorter versions without increasing frame diameter. Electromagnetic characteristics are determined by the winding designation C, allowing the drive to match voltage constants common to 230 VAC bus supplies. Mechanical power is transferred through a smooth shaft, which supports backlash-free couplings or press-fit pulleys and eliminates the need for keyways. For system wiring, the motor includes 2 SpeedTec Ready connectors that separate power and feedback circuits and use quarter-turn locking for a secure connection.

The unit is supplied without brake, so passive holding force must be provided externally when the axis is stopped. Rotor position is transmitted through 4 feedback lines, giving the drive controller high-resolution angle information for commutation and servo loops. The SFD feedback system carries digital position data and motor temperature information over the same cable, which reduces separate wiring between the motor and the drive. The encoder uses single-turn inductive sensing, so it does not rely on optical disks and can better tolerate dust or oil inside the housing. This feedback arrangement supports reliable signal transmission during industrial operation.
