Product Description:
The AKM22H-ANBNAD-01 is a rotary servo motor manufactured by Kollmorgen within the AKM Synchronous Servo Motors series. It serves as the electromechanical element that converts controlled drive power into repeatable rotation for positioning tables, light pick-and-place heads, and other precision axes in factory automation. The permanent-magnet motor provides responsive torque for applications that require frequent acceleration, deceleration, and accurate positioning. Integration is simplified by the standardized flange and connector layout, allowing machine builders to mount the motor efficiently and route its cables directly to a compatible servo drive.
The motor has a compact 58 mm frame, so it fits inside machines with limited clearance while providing the torque density expected from a permanent-magnet design. An IEC flange with accuracy class N maintains alignment within standard industrial tolerances, reducing the need for shimming during installation. Feedback and power cables connect through two SpeedTec-ready connectors, whose bayonet interfaces permit secure, tool-free cable attachment. The separate connections help organize signal and power routing around compact machine assemblies. For applications that rely on dynamic braking from the drive, the unit is supplied without a brake, reducing brake-related inertia and eliminating the need for brake maintenance. A smooth shaft transmits torque to couplings or pulleys without a keyway, making it suitable for precision clamping hubs that distribute force evenly around the shaft.
The rotor length index 2 balances continuous torque with overall motor mass, supporting responsive motion in small gantries and other lightweight axes. This rotor arrangement provides sufficient magnetic stack depth without adding unnecessary length to the motor housing. The copper fill and lamination geometry are matched to winding designation H, which pairs with drives capable of supplying the voltage and current needed for higher base speeds. Proper drive matching helps maintain controlled current delivery during rapid speed changes and repetitive positioning cycles. The motor’s thermal behavior depends on effective heat transfer through its housing and mounting surface, so the installation should provide firm mechanical contact and adequate surrounding airflow.
