Product Description:
The AKM22H-ANBN2-01 is a permanent-magnet synchronous servo motor produced by Kollmorgen within the AKM Synchronous Servo Motors series. Designed for tightly controlled motion axes, the unit transforms drive current into rapid torque transients that support pick-and-place heads, indexing tables, and small gantries. Its compact housing keeps installation depth to a minimum while still delivering the dynamic response associated with the AKM family. Integrated electronic feedback lets the motor connect directly to Kollmorgen drives for deterministic position and velocity control loops in automated machinery.
The motor has a 58 mm square flange, providing a standardized mounting surface that aligns with IEC gear reducers. Position information is generated by an optical encoder that provides 2048 lines/rev of incremental resolution; this density provides sub-arc-minute commutation accuracy when combined with a 32-bit drive interpolator. The encoder is a Comcoder device, so its sensor electronics and connector pins follow Kollmorgen’s hybrid feedback pinout for simplified cabling. Because the rotor is supplied without a brake, holding torque must be provided by the drive or an external clamp. Power and signal cables terminate on two SpeedTec-ready connectors, allowing keyed push-and-turn engagement without custom field wiring.
A shaft seal helps prevent splashed fluids from traveling along the rotor journal and entering the stator cavity. The output end uses a smooth shaft, which simplifies connection to low-inertia loads through clamp or compression hubs and eliminates key-induced imbalance. The flange has an IEC accuracy class N, providing face runout and pilot tolerances compatible with precision motion stages. Inside the encoder housing, the identification code EPC 15T indicates a single-turn optical track associated with winding code H and rotor length index 2. This encoder arrangement supplies the position information needed by the drive for motor commutation and closed-loop motion control.
