Product Description:
The AKM22G-ENBN2-00 is a servo motor manufactured by Kollmorgen for the AKM Synchronous Servo Motors series. This rotary unit provides closed-loop speed and position control, allowing machine builders to synchronize linear slides, rotary tables, or small robotic joints with accurate torque output during automated cycles. Its compact form also suits axes that need repeatable motion in a limited installation space.
The motor is wired through 2 SpeedTec Ready connectors, a keyed arrangement that shortens installation time and maintains shield continuity for the feedback and power conductors. The keyed layout also helps keep the power and feedback connections clearly separated in compact assemblies. Position data are generated by a Comcoder sensor that delivers incremental signals at 2048 lines/rev, and this resolution supports fine velocity regulation at low speeds. The feedback element is a single-turn optical device, so absolute angle is retained for one revolution while the sensor head remains compact. The motor has a 58 mm frame dimension, which fits tightly into pick-and-place end effectors and compact gear stages. The unit is supplied without a brake, so static holding torque must be provided externally when the axis is de-energized. EPC 15T is the specified feedback type for the encoder.
The motor uses rotor length index 2, which gives moderate continuous torque without raising inertia excessively. The output is a smooth shaft, which simplifies direct coupling with clamp hubs or bellows couplings when low backlash is needed. That arrangement favors responsive motion on short-stroke automation axes. It also uses winding designation G, matching the voltage constant to standard 230 V drives for balanced current draw. The customization level is Standard, so housing, seals, and insulation follow the baseline AKM family configuration.
