The AKM22E-BNBNR-00 is a synchronous servo motor manufactured by Kollmorgen within the AKM Synchronous Servo Motors series. As a compact rotary actuator, it provides closed-loop torque and velocity control for machine axes that require repeatable positioning and rapid acceleration. The motor is suitable for automated assembly, packaging, and material-handling cells where controlled rotary motion is needed. Feedback from the motor allows a compatible drive to monitor rotor movement and correct deviations caused by changing loads during operation.
This model attaches through a NEMA flange and fits compact machinery envelopes with its 58 mm frame dimension. Power and feedback cables leave the housing through two SpeedTec-ready connectors, which use keyed, quarter-turn coupling for quick and secure connections. Position information is generated by a resolver with two poles, providing noise-resistant angle detection for closed-loop motion control. The Size 10/15/21 feedback format supports connection to Kollmorgen drives designed for a resolver of that size. A smooth shaft simplifies attachment to gearheads or direct-drive loads when a keyed connection is unnecessary. Inside the stator, winding designation E establishes the electrical characteristics used by a compatible drive to regulate motor current. The motor has rotor length index 2, which provides greater magnetic stack depth than the shortest motor length and supports increased continuous torque.
The motor uses the Standard customization level and operates without a brake. Applications that require a stationary load to remain secured must use drive-generated holding torque or an external clamping mechanism. The resolver is a single-turn inductive device, so it measures rotor position within one mechanical revolution without relying on an optical disk. Its inductive operating principle supports reliable feedback in the presence of dust, vibration, and temperature changes. The connector arrangement separates the external cable interfaces from the enclosed motor components while allowing straightforward cable routing around nearby machine structures.
